December 4 Week Film/TV Class w/NBC

A Note from Katja Blichfeld, Casting Director, NBC:

"As a casting director, it's great for me to come in and see actors who are so "in shape" so to speak. I always know that the actors I'll be meeting in Jen's class have already been schooled on what to expect in an audition, for instance. Her expertise in the casting industry has afforded her valuable insight: she knows how to guide actors in making real choices with the material they're given. And not just choices, but ones that are appropriate for television or film, which is what I am always casting for. It's great for me to come to her class and meet people who are ready to walk on to a set.

Actors who Katja has met in my class who were recently called in for 30 ROCK:

Alice Schaerer (booked the part!)

Amy Loughead

Rachel Mudd

Carolina Mesarina

Kathy Chlan

Nicole Winhoffer

Connor Fux

Sabina Gadecki

Norm Golden

When you audition you are showing the casting director the "best you can do" and "how you will be on the set." It's not a rehearsal or a class. The bar and competition is extremely high. It is essential to learn what is required of you and work to polish those skills. Who better than to work with than casting directors? It's also essential to know casting directors as we lean towards calling in actors we know and trust when working on projects. Why? Because our job is to find the best actors for the roles in the shortest amount of time possible so we often don't have time to risk on calling in those whose work we don't know as most actors do not know how to audition for Film/TV. My class give actors the opportunity to work with myself and Katja Blichfeld from NBC, receive valuable individualized coaching and feedback, and learn what it takes to land roles. My class offer actors an intimate, comfortable, audition-like experience which benefits the entire class as everyone watches and learns from each other. If you are not getting seen for auditions, getting callbacks and/or booking the job, this class is for you.
